I had the itch to make another donation quilt, once again, there is a quilt donation drive happening for Comfort Cases, organized by Stacey Lee Creative. You can find all the details here.
For donation quilt #2 I tried to go for a simpler more unisex vibe and decided on Gingham! Method very similar to my patchwork squares quilt, but 4″ squares instead of the 5″ squares, and three colors arranged as below:

I used strip piecing to construct all the rows, pressing the seams open, then sewing all the rows together. I backed it with some soft flannel from Michael’s, I had to join two pieces together in order to get the width I needed. Quilting was just diagonal lines every other square, with then some wavy lines either side of the straight lines using a variegated silver/white thread.

The binding was done by machine with strips of the same fabric as was used on the back.

I like it!
